Panasonic WES9510: Integrated Foil and Blade Replacement

Panasonic calls WES9510 a system outer foil. In this design, the outer foils and inner blades form one replacement cutting unit. The ES-L550W instructions explicitly say that separate inner blades are not required.

Keep the foil frame when changing the cutting unit. WES9510 does not replace a damaged frame, release mechanism, shaver body or cleaning station. A listing for a complete shaver head assembly may contain different parts.

US ARC5 PRO models documented by Panasonic

Panasonic's US ARC5 PRO page lists WES9510 in its replacement-parts chart. Its two retail variants are ES-L550WS without a cleaning station and ES-L580WS with a cleaning station. The operating instructions use the shorter handle codes ES-L550W and ES-L580W.

The model guides below describe these two US replacements from manufacturer documentation reviewed by Codex. This is a documentation review, not a hands-on test or human fit approval. The list covers these US variants, not every regional ARC5 PRO model.

What comes with the replacement

The replacement is the integrated cutting unit: outer foils and inner blades together. The surrounding foil frame is reused. Compare the seller's included-items description with this distinction before ordering, especially if the frame itself is cracked or no longer clips in place.

A multi-pack contains more than one replacement unit; it does not necessarily include extra frame parts. Keep WES9510 and any additional suffix exactly as printed on the offer, and confirm that offer's market and contents.

WES9510 is not a universal ARC5 or ARC6 part

ARC5 covers several generations with different replacement systems. Panasonic's US comparison chart separates WES9510 for ARC5 PRO from WES9032 for the older ARC5 combination and WES9040 for ARC5 PALM. It lists WES9600P for ARC6. These references must not be treated as substitutes.

ES-L650U and ES-L690U are Japanese six-blade model codes, not the US five-blade ARC5 PRO variants above. They are not included in this WES9510 list. Use their own Panasonic documentation rather than extending a match from a similar-looking code.

When and how to replace WES9510

The ES-L550W manual gives approximately 18 months as a replacement guide, based on one three-minute shave per day. Actual wear and use can change the interval. Stop using a damaged cutting surface and replace it earlier; the reminder light does not establish the condition of the foil.

Switch off the shaver and unplug the charger. Release the outer foil section, then release the cutting unit from its frame. Retain that frame. Align the frame and cutting-unit marks and attach the new unit securely. Avoid excessive force on the release buttons, which can bend the foil.

Use the illustrated replacement instructions for your exact model before fitting the part: page 15 for ES-L550W, or page 19 for ES-L580W. The ES-L580W replacement reference and integrated-unit explanation are on page 21. For cleaning, let the components dry and follow the model’s lubrication instructions before the next use.
