Routine cleaning does not always require removing the individual cutting heads. Follow your shaver’s cleaning procedure before releasing them.
When disassembly is needed, work on one head at a time. Philips advises keeping each cutter paired with the guard it came out of.
Prepare the shaver and work area
Before rinsing, confirm that water cleaning is permitted for your model and disconnect the power supply. Use the model’s dry-cleaning instructions where water cleaning is not permitted.
Keep the charger away from the sink and place small parts in a tray to prevent them from falling into the drain.
Clean one cutter and guard at a time
Keep each cutter with its own guard. Finish one pair before opening the next.
- Identify the retaining mechanism before releasing the heads. Some assemblies have individual retaining rings; others use a frame. Follow the release direction shown in the manual, without bending a piece that resists.
- Remove one cutter and its guard, clean them as instructed, then put that pair back together before moving to the next head.
Refit and secure the heads
Return each pair to the holder and secure the retaining rings or frame. Allow the cleaned parts to dry as directed before use.
If the shaver becomes noisy or starts pulling immediately after cleaning, review the reassembly: the position of the heads, the retaining pieces and the cutter-and-guard pairs. Mention that the problem began after cleaning if you need to contact support.
